She was one of the chosen few to secure an apprenticeship at the Royal Danish Theatre, and in 1993 she could call herself a dressmaker. But hidden deep in her creative heart was a passionate textile artist. After a few years with the theatre, she felt the call of the TEKO school in Herning, where Sisse was trained as a technician in the ready-to-wear sector. This led to a job at a knitting factory in Cairo, where she met the love of her life, Jacob.

After 15 years as a homemaker, and with three wonderful children on her CV, Sisse blossomed into a textile artist. The dream of making a difference in the world took wing in the form of her own little workshop – and this is where she created her first exhibit, “Knit a shadow”, which was part of the Fanø Knitting Festival in 2016.

This ground-breaking and inventive textile artist lives with her family in lovely surroundings on the island of Zealand, where the beauty around her is a daily delight. Not only during her walks in the woods, which are a source of spiritual nourishment, but also when she is with the people who enrich her life.
